The meeting took place on Monday between Brigadier General Bahman Behmard, who serves as deputy head of operations at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Chief of General Staff of Saudi Arabia General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili.
In the meeting, Al-Ruwaili and Behmard reviewed and discussed a range of issues, including defense cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia as well as the security situation in the region.
Behmard extended an invitation to the Saudi general for a visit to Iran.
Al-Ruwaili also thanked the Iranian delegation for accepting Saudi Arabia’s invitation to visit the World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh while emphasizing the need for more cooperation between the two countries in the fields of security and defense.
